The sulphur crested cockatoo is a highly intelligent bird and habitats in cities such as Adelaide, Melbourne, Canbetta, Sydney and Brisbane. They have a distinctive raucous call which can be very loud, an adaptation in order to travel through the forest enviroments in which they live. The birds have a long life span and can live upwards of 70 years in captivity, although they are thought to live about 20 - 40 years in the wild.
