Contemporary abstraction No. 1 Acrylic Survival of Nature's Fittest. The brutality of the Australian mammal called "The Tasmanian Devil", can be identified as a savage little animal, living in the wild on the eastern coast of the Australian island of Tasmania. This is a contemporary "Biomorphic" abstraction. In artistic terms "morphic" is defined as in a specific shape or form, "Biomorphic" meaning having the curving or "irregular" form of "living organisms",. Abstraction happens when a part is taken from a "whole". As a creative artist, I am offering the viewer an alternative perspective to a body of work, in the form of a "contemporary abstraction", a popular concept adopted bymany artists, past and present.
